Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen may have learned a painful lesson on Thursday night.

The rookie pass rusher was knocked out of the team’s preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a shoulder injury. Umanmielen, following the eventual 19-10 loss, told reporters that initial X-rays on the shoulder came back negative and that he’s set to undergo an MRI on Friday.

Steelers tight end Darnell Washington stands at 6-foot-7 and 264 pounds. So, yeah, that’s a lot of butt to block.

Umanmielen then took to Twitter/X shortly after and posted the following . . .

The Panthers are also currently dealing with an injury to fellow rookie outside linebacker and Day 2 pick Nic Scourton, who suffered a collapsed lung during their joint practice with the Houston Texans two weeks ago.
