Well, the Carolina Panthers pulled out a grand total of zero victories from the 2025 preseason. They concluded their exhibition play on Thursday night, with a 19-10 loss to the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers.

But there were a few Panthers who did manage to churn out some personal wins from the outing.

Here are the biggest winners from the preseason finale . . .

RB Trevor Etienne

Etienne, like last week, displayed his big-play ability out of the backfield. His shifty 28-yard run on the first offensive possession stood as a team-high on the evening.

He also looked more comfortable on his lone punt return of the contest, one he took for 10 yards.

The fourth-round pick has been battling for the third spot in the running back room behind starter Chuba Hubbard and free-agent addition Rico Dowdle. Between his latest offering and what appears to be an ankle injury for competitor Raheem Blackshear, Etienne may have clinched his standing.

S Lathan Ransom

Veteran Nick Scott was held out with the starters on Thursday, so he may have already won the starting safety job alongside Tre’von Moehrig. But that didn’t stop rookie Lathan Ransom from showing out.

Ransom, Carolina’s other fourth-round selection from this past spring, notched the first and only interception for the defense this summer. He also registered a team-high five tackles, showing off his instincts and hard-hitting capabilities.

K Ryan Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald booted through the only two kicks on the night for Carolina—a 43-yard field goal and an extra point. Meanwhile, veteran Matthew Wright—Fitzgerald’s competition—didn’t even get an opportunity.

The undrafted rookie out of Florida State University now closes up his preseason having hit on all three of his field goal tries.
