Indianapolis Colts’ defensive tackle DeForest Buckner has been sidelined for the last few practices.
On Thursday, it was reported that Buckner is working through a back injury. ESPN’s Stephen Holder would report that the sense is that Buckner will be back “soon,” meaning before Week 1, as he put it.
Head coach Shane Steichen has already announced that none of the Colts‘ starters will play in Saturday’s preseason finale.
After navigating numerous injuries, the Colts have had several key players return as of late. Back at practice in some capacity this week were Alec Pierce, Kenny Moore, Bernhard Raimann, Jaylon Jones, JuJu Brents, and Kwity Paye.
Players who remain sidelined include Tyler Goodson, Jaylon Carlies, Josh Downs, and Samuel Womack.
