The Cleveland Browns can’t seem to keep their players out of trouble off the field. Recently, star pass rusher and former Defensive Player of the Year winner Myles Garrett was cited for driving 100 MPH in a 60 MPH zone.
Unfortunately, Garrett refused to take accountability for the incident when asked about it by reporters during Cleveland’s training camp.
“I’d honestly rather talk about football and this team than anything I’m doing off the field, other than the back-to-school event that I did the other day,” Garrett said when initially asked about the citation, according to Awful Announcing.
After being asked a follow-up question, Garrett said he would like to “keep his personal life personal.”
After being asked a third time, Garrett responded, “I’d rather talk about something that’s more focused on this team, what we’re doing, what we’re trying to accomplish.
The topic came up one final time and Garrett still refused to provide any sort of meaningful answer.
“Again, you’re asking the same question and I’ve answered it two different times. So I’m going to need you to ask a different question so I can focus on this team and not this headline you’re trying to get out of this question you’re asking.”
It’s downright pathetic that one of the Browns’ supposed leaders would behave in such a manner, especially considering that he flipped a car while speeding in the past.
