Everyone say it with me: Helloooooo Newman.

Luke Newman is the latest addition to the Chicago Bears. With 4 years of experience at Holy Cross and Michigan State, Newman has more than 30 starts across the entire offensive line.

#Bears just landed a versatile, experienced G/C in Luke Newman.

He’s started every game over the last four years (at Holy Cross and Michigan State), and has played across the OL in his career at an extremely high level and efficiently.

And @ShrineBowl, he showcased the ability… pic.twitter.com/X8YjnFCW5O

The #Bears take Michigan State offensive lineman Luke Newman with the No. 195 pick.

Tackle-guard versatility but best at guard. Dominated at Holy Cross for 3 years before moving to MSU. Sturdy anchor, wide base, good pad level. pic.twitter.com/tBzddMUw9U

The #Bears fell for Luke Newman at the Shrine Game. Liked how he handled transition from Holy Cross to Mich St. and from outside to in. #DaBears

Bears steal another Lion…

General manager Ryan Poles has long valued versatility along the OL:

Luke Newman said coaches tried him everywhere the East-West Shrine Game. It allowed Newman to show off his best trait.

“For me, that’s my versatility,” Newman said.

It is remarkable how much the Bears have reshaped their offensive line this offseason, and Newman’s addition only adds to the depth.
