New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft stepped into Boston’s mayoral race, urging voters to see his son Josh as more than the heir to one of the area’s wealthiest families as the younger Kraft struggles to close a wide gap with incumbent Michelle Wu.

“During this race, some have tried to tie Josh to notions of entitlement or to affiliations that they perceive to be negative. That’s unfair to Josh. He should be viewed as his own person,” Kraft said at a campaign event in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood on Friday evening.
