The Tennessee Titans may have yet another running back injury to deal with before the regular season kicks off.

In the third quarter of the Titans’ preseason game against the Vikings on Aug. 22, rookie Kalel Mullings was taken out of the game with an injury.

The incident occurred on the second half kickoff as receiver Chimere Dike ran out of bounds around the Titans‘ 40-yard-line. On the television broadcast, it appeared Mullings was stepped on by another player. He was led off the field by a trainer and was not putting much weight on his leg.

Mullings had six carries for 27 yards in game and was a big part of the Titans’ first scoring drive. The rookie out of Michigan had 948 yards rushing for the Wolverines in 2024, adding 12 rushing touchdowns.

An injury to Mullings would not help the Titans’ running back situation – backup Tyjae Spears injured his ankle in the Titans’ first preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Aug. 10.
