The Green Bay Packers will have one thing at the top of their mind as they close out their 2025 preseason schedule Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks. That will be to stay healthy.
The Packers have already suffered some key injuries on offense during the preseason. Most notably, quarterback Jordan Love had minor surgery on his left, non-throwing thumb after being injured in the team’s preseason Week 1 loss to the New York Jets.
Love is expected to be back for the Packers’ regular-season opener against the Detroit Lions, but second-year running back MarShawn Lloyd may not be as lucky. The 2024 third-round pick suffered another hamstring injury, which may keep him out of Week 1.
Those injuries may make the Packers approach quarterback and running back with a bit more caution and give more playing time to their fringe roster candidates at each position against the Seahawks.
Meanwhile, Seattle figures to continue to give quarterbacks Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe extended playing time. New acquisition Sam Darnold looked good in his Week 2 tune-up, so it isn’t clear exactly how much he may play as he prepares to make his regular-season Seahawks debut in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
