The final preseason game for the New Orleans Saints is just around the corner, as they wrap up the summer against Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. Soon after this matchup, the team will face difficult decisions as they trim the roster down to 53 players ahead of the regular season.
A few weeks ago, we broke down the team’s roster locks by analyzing projections from several of the top Saints reporters. Using those same projections — including insights from Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Ross Jackson for LouisianaSports.Net, and our very own John Sigler at Saints Wire — we took a closer look at which players could find themselves on the outside looking in this summer.

Based on those predictions, we identified 49 roster locks as consensus picks to make the team. A group of ten players received at least one vote and are fighting for the four spots on the roster bubble. That leaves these 30 players who are considered long shots to make the final roster:
