The New York Giants wrapped up an undefeated preseason on Thursday with a 42-10 victory over the New England Patriots. They now have to transition to trimming down their roster ahead of the deadline at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 26.

Giants Roster Cuts Tracker (updating)Reaction

The first grouping of eight cut players does not feature many surprises, and none of the above names will likely make the Giants’ practice squad.

The most unexpected cut thus far is WR Montell Washington, who had a hot start to training camp. He was one of the top performers among the backups and had a productive first game against the Buffalo Bills. He also showed flashes of being a quality special teams player.

Since then, Washington has lacked consistency, and younger players like Beaux Collins have emerged. With the top four receiver spots established, there wasn’t enough room for Washington to make the team as the sixth WR.

We will continue to provide updates throughout the weekend when more moves are made.
