As you would expect, Spartan Stadium will be packed on Friday night for the Michigan State season-opener against Western Michigan.

The Spartans will host the Broncos for the first game of the 2025 season next week, and it sounds like it could be a sellout for the opener. Michigan State athletic director J Batt was interviewed during the Detroit Lions’ preseason game on Saturday, where he noted that the Spartans’ season-opener is “almost sold out.” This is great news and helps show the peaking interest for Michigan State football to come back.

Michigan State is looking to get back to a bowl game this season for the first time since 2021. The Spartans went 5-7 last year, which extended the Big Ten’s longest active bowl drought to three seasons.

Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on August 29. For those who will not be in attendance, the game will be televised on FS1.
