The Atlanta Falcons got an early start on their roster cuts, releasing 12 players and placing offensive lineman Jake Hanson on injured reserve. Defensive lineman Morgan Fox was arguably the most surprising of Saturday’s cuts. The veteran had a $3 million guarantee in the contract he signed over the offseason.
Offensive lineman Matthew Cindric, edge Ronnie Perkins, running back Elijah Dotson and quarterback Ben DiNucci were among the others released as the team prepares for Tuesday’s cut deadline. The Falcons must get their roster down to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
