Detroit — Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell issued a positive injury update on a starting offensive lineman after the team’s 26-7 preseason loss to the Houston Texans at Ford Field on Saturday.
Starting center Graham Glasgow “should be good” after leaving Thursday’s practice with a lower-leg injury, Campbell said.
Glasgow left Thursday’s joint practice with the Texans early because of an injury, putting into serious jeopardy the stability of Detroit’s starting line.
There was not good news, however, on the status of Lions linebacker Ezekiel Turner, who was carted to the locker room in Saturday’s preseason loss with an apparent foot/ankle injury. Turner was spotted using crutches in the Lions’ locker room after the game.
“That could be tough,” Campbell said when asked to provide an update on Turner. “We’re getting tests on that, but that was a significant injury, it looks like.”
Campbell also provided an update on running back Sione Vaki, who also left Thursday’s practice with an injury and did not play against the Texans. Thursday marked the third time that Vaki had left practice early this camp, with the prior two instances being because of a lingering hamstring issue. It’s not clear whether the most recent injury is also to his hamstring.
“Vaki, we’ll see. That could be a tick longer, but it’s not a major thing,” Campbell said.
