CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The high school alma mater of former Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd will name its football stadium after him during a ceremony on Tuesday.

Boyd attended Clairton High School in suburban Pittsburgh and reportedly helped fund some of the improvements, though he wanted to keep the amount private.

The first phase of construction has been completed, and the first game was set to be played on Friday night.

In addition to new turf, the stadium also has a modern lighting system, a new 1,200-seat grandstand, a press box and a digital scoreboard. The second part of construction will include a multi-use fieldhouse with locker rooms, training spaces and classrooms.

Boyd was selected in the second round of the 2016 draft by the Bengals and he played for the team through the 2023 season. He ranks fourth in franchise history in receptions with 513, seventh in receiving yards with 6,000 and 13th in touchdown receptions with 31.

He played last season for the Tennessee Titans.
