The Minnesota Vikings gave their quarterback room a facelift on Sunday morning ahead of roster cutdowns that are looming for the team. By Tuesday afternoon, they had seemingly finalized their quarterback group, with perhaps one more name being left in the cold by the time Tuesday afternoon rolls around.

In the process, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was able to make some moves in the NFL Draft in terms of acquiring picks.

Just a year ago, the Vikings had as few as four draft picks heading into the 225 NFL Draft. The limited picks came after Kwesi Adofo-Mensah traded up twice in 2024 for quarterback J.J. McCarthy and edge rusher Dallas Turner. Now, after the latest trade involving Sam Howell, the team has a litany of picks in 2026.

Right now, the team has:

First-round selectionSecond-round selectionThird-round selectionThird-round selection (projected Compensatory pick)Fourth-round selection (projected Compensatory pick)Fifth-round selectionFifth-round selection (Acquired from Philadelphia in Sam Howell Trade)Sixth-round selection (Acquired from Houston in Ed Ingram trade)Sixth-round selection (Acquired from New York Jets in Harrison Phillips trade)Seventh-round selection

The total number of picks for the Vikings now sits at 10, with three on the second day of the draft, and six on the third day of the annual NFL event. That is a lot of firepower for the Vikings to do a lot more moving in the draft, or even to trade for someone they think can tip the scales in their favor.
