A documentary series about Bill Belichick and UNC football is coming this fall, the Tar Heels announced Sunday, Aug. 24, in a social media post.
The docuseries, produced by EverWonder Studio, on Belichick’s debut season with the Tar Heels will be released on Disney’s Hulu streaming service.
In addition to a video, UNC football’s social media post about the documentary featured the following message: “Excited to showcase our program this fall on Hulu. More information to post.”
HBO’s “Hard Knocks” was reportedly slated to feature the eight-time Super Bowl champion’s journey in Chapel Hill, but the project never came to fruition and HBO shifted its attention back to the NFL’s Buffalo Bills for the preseason and NFC East for in-season content.
Most of the Tar Heels’ games will air on ESPN’s various platforms, including the ACC Network. ESPN and Hulu are owned by Disney. Hulu hasn’t released any information related to a Belichick docuseries.
UNC opens the 2025 season against TCU on Monday, Sept. 1, at Kenan Stadium in a primetime game on ESPN to cap off Labor Day weekend.
What Bill Belichick said about UNC football Hulu documentary
UNC football posted a video on its X (formerly known as Twitter) account that featured Bill Belichick in a meeting room discussing the Hulu documentary series with the Tar Heels.
“I know that you guys have heard that there was a lot of interest in doing a, let’s call it season-long documentary or season-long show on North Carolina football,” Belichick says in the video.
“I’m excited, really, to share with you that we will be doing that with EverWonder and Hulu that will showcase our football program. This is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it and it’ll stream on Hulu later this fall.
“It’s going to feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do. And a program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s gonna go during the course of the season, which, of course, will be determined on the field. It’ll show our commitment to winning, it’ll show our commitment to the team, and that’s our priority.”
