TAMPA BAY, Fla. (WVLT) – Will Brooks’ quest to stick with an NFL franchise rolls on.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived Brooks on Sunday following the team’s final preseason game. The VFL made two tackles and played 44 snaps for the Bucs in a 23-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Brooks was signed by Tampa Bay on August 18th.
A Tennessee graduate, Brooks originally signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived by the team three days after signing.
The Alabama native cemented himself into Tennessee history with a game-sealing interception of Jalen Milroe in Tennessee’s 24-17 win over the Crimson Tide in 2024.
Brooks tied for the team lead with four interceptions a season ago, helping lead the Volunteers to the College Football Playoff.
