Despite a strong preseason showing in week three, former LSU cornerback Zy Alexander was waived by the Buffalo Bills.
Alexander entered the 2025 NFL Draft after his senior season in Baton Rouge but ultimately went undrafted. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks soon thereafter. The team released him earlier in the summer.

With the Bills, Alexander played 24 snaps in the week three preseason matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and contributed to the 23-19 victory. He earned a 79.2 PFF defense grade and 79.8 PFF coverage grade.
During the contest, Alexander made a stop and forced a fumble. He was targeted three times and allowed two catches but only four years after the catch. But it wasn’t enough to earn a roster spot as the Bills opted to move in a different direction. It’s still a positive for Alexander, who may have caught the eye of another NFL franchise. Alexander will look to at-least find a home on an NFL practice squad this year.
Alexander started two seasons at LSU following his transfer from Southeastern Louisiana. He recorded 13 interceptions over his five-year career. Alexander was LSU’s top defensive back in 2024 and one of the most productive corners in the SEC.
