The Minnesota Vikings‘ defense lives and dies by the success of their pass rushers. The group coordinated by Brian Flores showcased itself last year as one of the best in the NFL, largely due to the effectiveness they demonstrated after the quarterback. In doing so, it made the job of the secondary easier, resulting in numerous forced turnovers.

One of the emerging aspects of this defense is the defensive line, specifically the interior. They brought in two high-profile free agents in Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen, who are expected to be difference makers, but a rookie may be leading the way.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert wrote about another difference maker while discussing the Vikings’ rookie class: Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins.

Seifert writes, “Ingram-Dawkins has gotten enough work with the second team, and with the first team when starters took veteran rest days, to suggest he will be part of the defensive line rotation at some point during the season.”

In recent weeks, the rookie out of Georgia has been used in a variety of ways, and he has found a lot of success. Brian Flores knows how to put young players in a position to find success, and he may have found his next chess piece in the former Georgia Bulldog.
