Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson discusses contract situation

Aidan Hutchinson answered questions about a potential contract extension after Detroit Lions’ joint practice with the Houston Texans, Aug. 21, 2025.

The Detroit Lions lost one of their top special teams players to what coach Dan Campbell called a potentially “significant” injury in their preseason finale Saturday against the Houston Texans.

Linebacker Ezekiel Turner left the game early in the second half with a lower right leg injury.

Turner, who was helped off the field by trainers and taken to the locker room by a medical cart, was on crutches in the locker room after the game and told the Free Press he possibly tore his Achilles tendon.

“That could be tough,” Campbell said. “We’re getting tests on that. That was a significant injury it looks like.”

Turner played in nine games after signing with the Lions last November and was competing for a backup linebacker spot this summer.

Graham Glasgow, Sione Vaki injury updates

Campbell said starting center Graham Glasgow avoided serious injury in Thursday’s joint practice with the Texans, when he left late in practice with a lower leg injury. Running back Sione Vaki “could be (out) a tick longer” with an injury that’s “not a major thing,” Campbell said.

Vaki, another one of the Lions’ best special teams players, has battled hamstring injuries all camp.
