According to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post, the Denver Broncos have waived defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour just a week after signing him.
The veteran journeyman, who signed with the team just recently after stints with multiple squads, couldn’t secure a spot despite his experience on the interior line last season with the Browns. His NFL career kicked off as an undrafted free agent in 2021, emerging from college stints at Michigan and Rutgers, where he accumulated solid tackle numbers and flashed quickness off the snap as an interior disruptor.

He began with the New York Jets, then spent time with the Houston Texans from 2021 to 2023, playing in 10 games total and registering 13 tackles, two for loss, and six quarterback hits in limited action. Additional stops included the San Francisco 49ers in 2022-23, a brief period with the Tennessee Titans in 2023, and the Cleveland Browns in 2023-24 and appeared in just one game during the 2024 season and recorded a solo tackle. Denver signed him last week to add depth to their defensive line and he played in the final preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.
Dwumfour is one of those guys Denver added late in the process to fill out the gameday roster. I’m not sure he’ll be in their long-term plans with the practice squad once waivers clear.
