Roster cuts have started for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the team is releasing cornerback De’Antre Prince. The Jaguars selected Prince in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft.

As training camp unfolded, it looked like Prince was on the outside looking in. With Tyson Campbell, Jourdan Lewis, Buster Brown, Jarrian Jones, and Travis Hunter accounting for five spots at cornerback, presumably, there is maybe just one other available on the 53-man.

In recent weeks, Christian Braswell seemed to take control of that roster spot. When Campbell was sidelined, it was Braswell who was working with the ones. He also performed well in the second preseason game and didn’t play against Miami–a sign that he could be making the team.

Prince played 67 snaps on defense this preseason for the Jaguars, totaling five tackles, while allowing five completions on seven targets for 74 yards, according to PFF.

As a rookie, Prince appeared in six games on defense, totaling 101 snaps.
