Some things require no comment. Then, there are those times when you can’t drive past the car wreck without slowing down to assess the damage. One of the Baltimore Ravens‘ rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, has ended its holdout with its best player, but they fail at what most thought was the ultimate goal. Rather than extend Trey Hendrickson, they will give him a raise and will still part ways at the end of the coming season.
We know… Only in Bungles Land, right?

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cincy will increase Hendrickson’s 2025 salary $14 million to grant him a one-year salary of $30 million. No extension was reached, and Hendrickson will still enter free agency at the beginning of the new league year next March.
A disagreement on guaranteed money had reportedly been the biggest obstacle to ending Hendrickson’s stalemate with Cincinnati. Hours after the Washington Commanders had finally reached a deal with Terry McLaurin, the Bengals failed to hammer out a new deal of their own with their best player on defense.
It’s official. As long as the current regimes are in place for the Bengals and Cleveland Browns, the Ravens may be able to establish long-term dominance in the AFC North forever with the Pittsburgh Steelers being their toughest competition.
Frankly, we’re flabbergasted, but in a good way, as the Ravens set their sights on a Super Bowl run. The Bengals continue to provide comic relief. You can’t make this stuff up. What in the world is going on in the jungle?
