ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers welcomed the Seattle Seahawks for a joint practice Thursday, two days ahead of the teams’ matchup in the final week of the preseason.
Practice lasted two hours and 21 minutes, with three fights breaking out during the 11-on-11 portion of practice. Two of those fights took place during the portion of practice that was closed to video recording, but videos are circulating on social media.
Two brawls included the Packers’ first team offense against the Seahawks’ first team defense. One fight was between the Packers’ first team defense and the Seahawks’ first team offense.
Packers offensive lineman Zach Tom was part of one of the fights and shared what caused him to take part.
I mean, they [Seahawks] were in our huddle and I saw someone on my left got hit, so I just reacted,” Tom said. “I’m not sure who he [Seahawks player] pushed, but I saw him jump over the top of somebody and hit one of our guys.”
Packers rookie offensive lineman Anthony Belton was part of the second fight that broke out against the Seahawks’ defense.
I mean, when there’s a big crowd, you don’t really see what’s going on. Out of instincts, you just want to be there for your teammates,” Belton said. “In my opinion, on offense we were getting after them and I guess that’s how they responded.”
Before practice, the Seahawks took part in what has become a custom for visiting teams during training camp: riding kids’ bicycles to the practice field.
Seahawks’ quarterback Sam Darnold and Bo Melton took time before and after practice to take pictures with fans and sign autographs.

The FOX 11 Sports staff kept a close eye on injured players during the portion of the day that was open to the media.
Xavier McKinney returned to the practice field for the first time since suffering a calf injury, but was limited. The safety went through individual drills with other defensive backs, but did not partake in the 11-on-11 period.
“Everything felt good. Right now, I’m just trying to make sure my wind is where it needs to be and then just staying locked in to the calls. It was good to put the pads back on and move around a little bit,” McKinney said.
When asked if he thinks his “wind” is where it needs to be: “I’m there. I’m ready to go. I’m just making sure that I kind of keep up with that and making sure I’m locked in,” McKinney said.
Along with Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks remained out of practice as he works his way back from a calf injury.
The Packers gave fans a few highlights during the practice.
The practice was the final one of training camp that was open to the public.
