We are now on the cusp of the 2025 NFL regular season beginning, as preseason has wrapped up. With that, it’s a good time to take a look at where the Atlanta Falcons are odds-wise according to our friends at FanDuel.
The odds on FanDuel currently have the Falcons somewhere in the bottom to middle of the league, as they have +7000 odds to win the Super Bowl. For context, teams in a similar position as the Falcons are the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots, who most people reading this would likely not have anywhere near the Super Bowl, let alone the playoffs. My heart would want the Falcons to obviously defy the odds, and it would certainly pay off big, but FanDuel does not feel confident in this happening.
The current favorite to win the Super Bowl is the Baltimore Ravens.
The Falcons, according to FanDuel, have a decent shot at making the playoffs as their odds are at +140. Other teams around them in this area are the Arizona Cardinals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New England Patriots. I personally would feel good with these odds, as mainly it comes down to how much faith you have in Atlanta being able to topple the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the NFC South.
In my opinion, I feel like the Falcons can scratch the nine-wins mark. Over 8.5 wins is where I would feel comfortable putting my money. I mean, they had seven wins in three consecutive seasons before having eight wins in 2024. So, I would be banking on them to win an additional game in 2025 and with Michael Penix Jr., I think they can… and will.
The Buccaneers are FanDuel’s favorites to take the NFC South this year, but Atlanta isn’t far behind. It’s fair, but it makes Atlanta perfect for betting. The Panthers are surprisingly not far behind the Falcons, and way, way down at the bottom (and rightfully so) is the New Orleans Saints, right where they belong.
This is possibly a fun one, but FanDuel has Michael Penix Jr. at +200 to have 4,000+ passing yards during the 2025 regular season. Those are pretty good odds, considering Penix had 4,500+ passing yards in his last two college seasons at Washington. Sure, the NFL is different, but it’s a passing league and with 17 games to be player, I think he can get there.
