ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — For weeks, residents, businesses and drivers worked around closed roads for the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field.
Jason Christus at Green Bay Strength Club in Ashwaubenon is one of them.

Roads around Lambeau Field are again fully open after being closed for weeks
Those closures started in late March
The NFL Draft drew 600,000 people to the three-day event
“A week and a half later, I’d say we’re probably back up to 80% or 90% of the foot traffic that was coming in,” he said Tuesday. “A little lull for a couple of weeks and now with it being springtime getting ready for summer and with the roads opening up — especially Oneida and Lombardi over there — things are starting to get back to normal as far as traffic we’re seeing in here at the gym.”

The draft stage took up most of Oneida Street at the intersection with Lombardi. All road closures ended Tuesday.
“We have to adapt to the events happening around us,” Christus said. “We’re down here in the entertainment district, so to speak, so we offered some things to people coming into town to set up. We had some members of the production team working on the stage who were really wonderful to have in here. Some of the construction workers, some of the IT workers.”
Jerry Matuszak lives about three blocks from the stadium in Green Bay. He adjusted his routes to his preferred grocery and hardware stores.
“I had to detour around rather than go out to the highway. But I managed,” he said. “It wasn’t impossible. It just took a little longer.”
Matuszak said he’s glad to see traffic patterns back to the usual.
“Much easier,” he said.

Christus uses the word “adaptability” when talking about the past few weeks.
Having 600,000 people in the general area brought some new eyes and customers to his business.
“Definitely a good exercise in just adjusting to what was,” Christus said. “If something like that came again, we’d be great with it.”
