CLEVELAND, Ohio — In the history of celebrity NFL quarterbacks, the Browns have had their fair share of media circuses. From Johnny Manziel to Baker Mayfield, Cleveland reporters have navigated intense fan bases and heated social media reactions. But according to the latest Orange and Brown Talk podcast, what’s happening with rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is something entirely different — and not in a good way.
“This has been nuts,” said Orange and Brown Talk host Dan Labbe, describing the extreme social media reaction to Sanders’ preseason performance. “We’ve talked about celebrity quarterbacks, we’ve talked about what it’s been like covering the likes of a Johnny Manziel or a Baker Mayfield or these guys who have a following that is just so enormous. It’s reached the point where I’ve never seen anything like this. I can’t remember even Tebow-mania, I don’t think was this crazy.”
