One of the best parts of NFL Draft week under Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes has been watching the Lions’ war room react to getting the players they wanted. We’ve seen aggressive hugs, slamming of tables, and just about everything short of a literal backflip.

On Friday, the Lions dropped their latest video for the 2025 NFL Draft, reacting to their selection of Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams.

Check it out:

The first thing that sticks out is that there was literally no hesitation or discussion on the pick. It looks like—at least from the way the video was cut—that once they were on the clock, that pick was locked and loaded. Without saying a word, coach Dan Campbell just gives Holmes a few celebratory pats on the shoulder, before Holmes erupts in laughter and the two embrace.

Then the video captures the Lions’ side of Williams’ conversation with the team.

“You’re gonna help us out in the middle of our defense, alright?” Holmes said. “Alright, man. We’re fired up.”

“Congratulations,” Campbell said, picking up the phone. “Listen, from this point on, you make up your mind what you want to do. You know what I mean? We’re drafting you for a reason. So come in here and compete, man, and help us.”

Maybe this video won’t go as an all-timer for Holmes and company, but it does show how resolute the team was in this decision and Williams as a player.
