Inside linebacker Levelle Bailey made the Broncos’ initial 53-man roster last season as an undrafted rookie.

A year later he has been cut.

Letting Bailey go has been the biggest surprise so far as the Broncos trim their roster down to the regular-season limit of 53 by 2 p.m. Tuesday. A source said the Broncos want to sign Bailey to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

While Bailey made the initial 53-man roster last year, he was soon was waived and then signed to the practice squad. But he was back on the 53 on Oct. 8 for the remainder of the season.

Another cut that was somewhat of a surprise was safety Sam Franklin. His 2025 contract was guaranteed for $1.17 million although that money could be offset if he joins another team.

According to sources and reports, among other players the Broncos waived Tuesday were tight end Caden Prieskorn, defensive lineman Jordan Miller, inside linebackers Garret Wallow and Jordan Turner, wide receivers A.T. Perry, Michael Bandy and Courtney Jackson, cornerbacks Reee Taylor, Jaden Robinson and Quinton Newsome, offensive linemen Will Sherman, Calvin Throckmorton and Joe Michalski, and safeties Keidron Smith and Delarrin Turner-Yell.
