The Steelers’ season officially kicks off on September 7 against the New York Jets. That’s still nearly two weeks away for those counting at home.
While we still have a bit of a wait for the return of Steelers football, there’s still plenty of black and gold action you can get in on as we count down the days.

Now, with that out of the way, let’s dive into the odds I would take a flier on.
Aaron Rodgers to throw 30+ TDs (+310)

While it’s true that Rodgers hasn’t thrown 30 touchdowns since 2021, I find this line to be a favorable one. Last season, it was inarguably one of the worst in his Hall of Fame career, Rodgers still managed to throw for 28. The Steelers are going to try to protect Rodgers with what they hope will be a much-improved running game, but it’s hard to believe Rodgers will go from having the second-most passing attempts in 2024 to a handcuffed game manager. The Steelers are all in on Rodgers, and with this line at +31o, Rodgers could turn a $50 bet into a $205 payout, and a $100 bet into a $410 payout.
Rodgers has thrown 30+ touchdowns eight times in his career.
Kaleb Johnson to win OROY (+4000)

Is Johnson the runaway favorite to win Rookie of the Year? No. Does the general NFL watching community think he’s even the second-best running back of his class? Look at those odds; the answer is a resounding no.
But that’s what makes this bet so intriguing. Because Johnson is not expected to sniff the award, the odds for him are comically out of proportion.
Let’s say the Steelers find a way to win 10 or more games in 2025, and make a deep playoff run. You’d have to believe the Aaron Rodgers experiment worked and that the Steelers’ offense took a big step forward. Looking around at the talent surrounding Rodgers, DK Metcalf is the only player who could be called a certified star. The Steelers also ran the ball a ton in 2024, and Jaylen Warren struggled with injuries. Warren didn’t inspire a ton of confidence in his preseason debut against the Panthers, either.
I believe that if the Steelers are a successful team in 2025, Johnson is going to have to be a big part of the offense. If he can eclipse 1,000 rushing yards, add some receiving, and score double-digit touchdowns, that would have to get him in the running at least.
And with odds like this, you could turn a tidy profit if it hits. If you’re not super confident, a small $10 bet is safe but could turn into $410. A $100 bet would turn into $4,100 on a hit.
That’s the kind of line I think is worth taking a flier on.
