ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. LAUREN. THAT STARTS AT THE TOP OF THE HOUR. HUSKER FOOTBALL HOLDING ITS FINAL SPRING PRACTICE. IN BETWEEN SCRIMMAGING WITH THE THIRD AND FOURTH STRING GUYS. THE HUSKERS WITH SOME UNIQUE COMPETITIONS TO ENTERTAIN THE CROWD LIKE A TRACTOR PULL. DYLAN RAIOLA LEADING THE TEAM ON A TOM OSBORNE FIELD. BUT LIKE THE OTHER STARTERS ONLY TAKING PART IN NON-CONTACT DRILLS, SO WE GET TO LOOK AT OTHER GUYS LIKE FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK T.J. LATEEF. THOUGH THIS PASS, PICKED OFF BY NUMBER 41 FRESHMAN DB TANNER TURK. A NICE PLAY THERE. MATT RAHUL LIKING WHAT HE SAW FROM LONGVILLE, THE JUNIOR QUARTERBACK FROM SIOUX CITY. WATCH HIM CONNECT WITH JAYDEN DOSS. DAWSON A CROWDED WIDE RECEIVER ROOM AND DOSS TAKES IT TO THE HOUSE AND ANOTHER NEWCOMER BEHIND CENTER MARCOS DAVILA, UNDER DURESS HERE PICKED OFF BY CMR PRESCOTT. ALL IN ALL, THOUGH, AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SOME GUYS WHO DON’T NORMALLY GET A CHANCE TO PLAY. GET SOME REAL REPS THIS AFTERNOON IN FRONT OF A LIVE CROWD AT MEMORIAL STADIUM. IT WAS GREAT BEING BACK HERE WITH OUR FANS IN THIS BEAUTIFUL STADIUM. YOU KNOW, WE PRACTICING HERE, BUT YOU KNOW IT’S NEVER IT’S NEVER FINISHED WHEN YOU KNOW WE DON’T HAVE A FAN. SO I’M JUST GLAD TO BE BACK OUT HERE. WE FELT THE LOVE AND WE’RE EXCITED FOR THE SEASON. YEAH OF COURSE I WOULD RATHER PLAY A GAME, BUT I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT. TODAY I FELT LIKE IT WAS FUN. It was a spring “game” like no other. Nebraska finished up spring football practice by hosting a roping contest, a strong man competition, a tractor pull and a wing-eating contest. There was also live football mixed in. The scrimmaging was only for back-ups, not for players like Dylan Raiola or Jacory Barney. A smaller-than usual spring game crowd which was estimated between 7,000-10,000 fans. Unlike years past, the festivities were not televised. Football was just one event which made up the first “Husker Games” which included a garage sale, food trucks, a soccer game and a volleyball match.
