Following roster cutdowns around the NFL, here are six players who could interest the Jaguars if they want to make an addition.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ initial 53-man roster may be set, but that doesn’t mean that GM James Gladstone is done making tweaks.
Between 4:00 PM ET on Tuesday and 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday, teams are able to submit waiver claims on released players with fewer than four years of accrued NFL experience.
In short, if only one team submits a waiver claim on a player, then it’s simple: that’s the team that the player is now on. However, if two or more teams submit a waiver claim, the team with the highest priority is awarded that player.
At this time of the year, the waiver wire priority mirrors the 2025 NFL draft order. So if the Jaguars and Bengals put in a claim on the same player, Jacksonville would be awarded the player because they are sixth in waiver priority, while Cincinnati is 17th.
Following that hypothetical addition, the Jaguars would then need to make a roster cut to make room for the new player.
For the full waiver wire order, you can find that here.
Now, for players with more than four years of accrued NFL experience, they hit free agency right away and can sign where they please.
So if the Jaguars are looking to add to the roster, who is available and what positions could they address?
As I laid out in detail here, wide receiver seems to be a position that the Jaguars are looking to add to.
With revamped offensive and defensive lines, those units are probably complete. However, I highlighted a few cornerbacks as well, with that being a position you can never have too much talent at, and the Jaguars needing improved play from that unit this season.
Let’s take a look at some waiver wire options at those positions with help from our NFL Wire team.
CB Chris Lammons
Lammons had a really good preseason with the Colts. He’s a sound tackler and was stingy in coverage, along with having special teams experience. He could provide a backup nickel option.
WR Courtney Jackson
Jackson lined up both inside and out this preseason, an important part of playing receiver in Liam Coen’s offense, although he’s a bit undersized at 5-11 and 189 pounds. But he flashed some big play ability and can handle return duties if needed.
WR Simi Fehoko
Fehoko fits the big-bodied mold that the Jaguars covet at receiver, measuring in at 6-3 – 220 pounds. A fifth-round pick in 2021, Fehoko has 10 career receptions, averaging 13.9 yards per catch. This preseason, he caught three passes for 31 yards with two touchdowns.
CB Myles Bryant
Bryant has played 2,281 defensive snaps in his career, most of which came with New England from 2020 through 2023. Bryant has mostly played in the nickel, but has experience lining up across the secondary, from outside to the box to free safety.
WR KJ Osborn
Osborn couldn’t find traction last season, playing for both New England and Washington. But before that, he was a key figure in the Minnesota offense. His experience playing under Kevin O’Connell could make him a good fit for Liam Coen’s scheme.
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Valdes-Scantling again has that size at receiver and has been a steady deep threat throughout his career. Playing in Green Bay early in his career, he’s comfortable with having to contribute as a blocker, which Coen requires of the receiver position.
WR Cornelius Johnson
An under-the-radar name could be Johnson. Again, has that big frame at 6-3 – 208 pounds. He was on Michigan’s National Championship team and was a seventh-round pick by the Chargers in 2024. Johnson impressed this preseason with the Packers.
