The Houston Texans head into the 2025 NFL season with some big matchups ahead.

The AFC South is an easy trek as of late, but the Texans also have a first-place schedule, meaning they’ll take on the Chiefs, Bills and Ravens. Houston will also see the NFC West, AFC West, featuring two other playoff teams and the Buccaneers among its 2025 opponents.

But, the AFC South has been struggling to find balance for teams to compete, thus hurting — or in this case helping — the Texans en route to a third straight AFC South title. As such, Sharp Football Analytics ranked the Rams as the 25th-hardest strength of schedule based on Vegas win totals this season rather than the 2024 season win-loss records.

Of course, this isn’t an exact science. Injuries, breakout players and other factors like luck can contribute to final strength of schedule. But this is a good metric to look at how easy or hard the road ahead will be for a team.

The Texans are looking to remain the favorites in the AFC South, but doing so will mean going through a few other divisional winners as well. The full schedule will be released on May 14.
