The Carolina Panthers have signed former Penn Stater Kalen King to its practice squad, according to The Athletic reporter Joe Person.
Panthers also plan to sign former Packers CB Kalen King to their practice squad, a league source said.
King (5-11, 187) was a 7th-rd pick last year from Penn State, where had a Big Ten-leading 18 PBUs and three INTs in 2022.

King played three seasons at Penn State where he totaled 23 starts in 38 games. During his time, he recorded 82 total tackles, 5.5 for a loss, three interceptions, 28 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. He skipped his senior year to enter the 2024 NFL Draft where he got drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round.
In the 2024 NFL preseason, King recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble, but was released by the Packers as he didn’t make the 53-man roster. However, the Packers brought him back to their practice squad where he spent most of the 2024 season before being activated to the main roster in Week 14. He did not see any action on the field last season despite this.
King played for the Packers this preseason where he recorded four tackles and a forced fumble but ended up being released once again before being picked up by the Panthers. The 22-year-old will look to make his NFL debut for a Panthers team that struggled last season as they went 5-12 and finished third in the NFC South.
