The Titans’ seven captains for the 2025 season include quarterback Cam Ward, who is the team’s first rookie captain since quarterback Marcus Mariota was elevated to the position late in the 2015 season.

Other captains named following the team’s vote include wide receiver Calvin Ridley, running back Tony Pollard, linebacker Cody Barton, safety Amani Hooker, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and long snapper Morgan Cox.

This will mark the fifth straight season as captain for Simmons, while Cox is a captain for the third consecutive year.

The other five are Titans captains for the first time.

Each captain will wear a “C” on his jersey, with the number of stars underneath the letter corresponding to the number of years they’ve served as captain.

Simmons’ “C” will be gold in honor of his five straight years in the role.

The 23-year-old Ward, selected with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft in April, has impressed his teammates with maturity and leadership qualities through the offseason, training camp and preseason.

Ridley, Pollard and Hooker were three of the team’s more productive players last season. Ridley and Pollard are beginning their second years with the Titans, while Hooker is going into his seventh season with the club.

Barton was signed during the offseason and has brought much-needed leadership and experience to a young linebacker group.

The Titans had five captains in 2024: Simmons, Cox, quarterback Will Levis, linebacker Kenneth Murray and center Lloyd Cushenberry. Levis will miss this season following shoulder surgery, while Cushenberry is ramping up to full strength after an Achilles injury last year. Murray was traded to Dallas during the offseason.

Tennessee opens its season Sept. 7 in Denver.
