It’s no surprise, fresh off a Super Bowl title, but Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts remains one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

That is according to the NFL’s list of the “Top 100” players in the league heading into the 2025 season. Now in its 15th year, the list counts down the league’s best players in groups of five. Hurts is the highest-ranked former Sooner so far, coming in at No. 19.

Hurts led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, where he earned Super Bowl MVP honors. During the regular season, he started 15 games, threw for 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns against five interceptions. The year marked the first of the last three in which he failed to make the Pro Bowl, but the world championship seems like a good replacement.

In the playoffs, the former OU and Alabama quarterback was even more stellar. Hurts threw for 726 yards and five touchdowns with just one interception in the Eagles’ four games. He also ran for another 194 yards and another five scores on the ground.

Hurts played just one season with the Sooners before being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Eagles. He won a national championship with the Crimson Tide in 2017 before transferring to Oklahoma ahead of the 2019 season. With OU, Hurts set career highs in yards (3,851) and passing touchdowns (32) while finishing second in Heisman Trophy voting to LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

The Eagles open the regular season Thursday, September 4, at home against their long-time rival, the Dallas Cowboys.
