Neglected to add CB Kevin Knowles to the list.
Robert Tonyan is temporarily on the practice squad but will move to the 53 when Rashee Rice is added to the exempt list, which should be today or tomorrow. https://t.co/Z43IM1jw5l

The Kansas City Chiefs made some surprising decisions on Tuesday as they cut their roster to 53 players after training camp and three preseason exhibitions.
Now, with their final roster set, Kansas City will begin signing players to its 16-player practice squad, which could include an extra seventeenth player if the Chiefs acquire a member of the NFL’s International Player Pathway.
Though practice squad players aren’t necessarily likely to see action during regular-season games, they play a crucial role in helping starters prepare for matchups week-to-week, and can be elevated to a team’s 53-man roster if injuries force a coaching staff to get creative.
Stay tuned to this live blog for updates on who Kansas City signs to its practice squad after making its initial roster cuts:
According to Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest, Kansas City has tentatively added tight end Robert Tonyan to its practice squad. He is expected to join the Chiefs’ active roster when wide receiver Rashee Rice is placed on the commissioner’s exempt list this week.
Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reported a series of moves that saw linebacker Cole Christiansen, defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu, wide receiver Jimmy Holiday, and tight end Tre Watson re-sign with Kansas City’s practice squad.
Other practice squad auditions on the field today:
LB Cole Christiansen
CB Melvin Smith
DT Marlon Tuipulotu
WR Jimmy Holiday
TE Tre Watson
OG CJ Hanson
I believe 14 of 17 possible spots accounted for. 15 if Tonyan is on PS.
