“The People’s Tight End” George Kittle was hands-on in the design process and couldn’t wait to see the finished product.

“I was part of the design crew,” Kittle said. “We wanted something fun, something different that we don’t really ever do. I haven’t worn all black since my rookie season. But we never had black helmets and so I’m the most excited about this bad boy (the helmet). Holy cow we are going to look cool.”

Kittle added that the new look will bring an edge to their rivalry game against the Seahawks.

“I feel violent when we wear all black,” he said. “Like we’re just standing on business. All ten toes.”

Quarterback Brock Purdy and linebacker Fred Warner shared the same excitement for the sleek style and the uniform’s nod to tradition.

“I think all black is just going to look so slick,” Purdy said.

“I like the old school numbers, wow,” Warner added. “I can’t even wrap my mind around wearing this.”

Playing off the iconography of the team’s rich California heritage, as well as past season lore, the Stereo Creative and 49ers team collaborated to create a dynamic studio shoot relying on projections to bring texture and history in.
