HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – To celebrate the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, Urgie’s Cheesesteaks in Downtown Harrisonburg is throwing the ultimate kickoff party for the Philly Style restaurant’s favorite team and the NFL season opener.
The co-owners of the bar, Tommy and Steven Urglavitch, are from Philadelphia and had planned to travel to Philadelphia to attend the home opener.
However, the brothers decided to instead celebrate the team’s 2nd Super Bowl banner with a large flock of friends, family, and fellow Birds fans with the ultimate kickoff party in Downtown Harrisonburg.
“A lot of people from JMU are from New Jersey, Southern Jersey, Eastern PA, and let’s face it, Philadelphia, we travel,” Tommy Urglavitch, co-owner and founder of Urgie’s Cheesesteaks, said. “It’s definitely neat to have and it’s fun down here, it’s really really fun in here for an Eagles game.”
The kickoff party is scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, and will start with a tailgate from 5:30 to 7:30. The tailgate will feature food, drinks, and giveaways before all eyes are on the Birds and the Cowboys when the two teams kick off the season at 8:20 p.m.
