One of the Arizona Cardinals‘ more surprising cuts to get the roster to 53 players was running back DeeJay Dallas. He was signed two a three-year contract in 2024 as a free agent and was the team’s top kick returner, in addition to being a core special teams player.
He has landed with one of the Cardinals’ opponents.

He signed with the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers, whom the Cardinals face in Week 2 in their home opener.
Dallas averaged 30.6 yards per kick return and had a 96-yard touchdown on one.
He logged 275 snaps on special teams, playing in all 17 games. He also had 49 rushing yards and three catches for 11 yards and a touchdown.
The Cardinals chose to keep Bam Knight as the fourth running back on the roster instead of Dallas, and Michael Carter signed with the practice squad, so Dallas went elsewhere.
The Panthers come to Arizona to face the Cardinals on September 14 at 4:05 p.m. ET.
