The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Packers will send two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark to the Cowboys in exchange for All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons, the team announced Thursday. The deal is pending physicals.

This trade impacts the Denver Broncos in two ways.

First: Parsons remains on Denver’s schedule. He won’t be with Dallas when the Broncos host the Cowboys in Week 8, but Parsons will travel to Denver when the Broncos host the Packers in Week 14. Quarterback Bo Nix and Denver’s offensive line probably would have liked to see Parsons traded to a team not on the 2025 schedule. Instead, they’ll face one of the NFL’s best pass rushers on Dec. 14.

Second: Nik Bonitto’s asking price probably just went up. Green Bay will pay Parsons an average of $47 million per year, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Parsons (26) is a four-time Pro Bowler with 52.5 sacks while Bonitto (25) is a one-time Pro Bowler with 23.0 sacks — so Bonitto won’t demand a record-breaking contract, but Parsons resetting the pass rusher market is good news for every edge defender seeking a new deal.

After Parsons, the NFL’s next-highest paid pass rushers in terms of average yearly salary are T.J. Watt ($41 million), Myles Garrett ($40 million), Danielle Hunter ($35.6 million), Maxx Crosby ($35.5 million) and Nick Bosa ($34 million). Bonitto, who is currently scheduled to become a free agent in 2026, is next in line for a contract extension in Denver, and the market is trending in his favor. If the Broncos want to keep Bonitto beyond this season, they’ll have to pay a handsome price.
