The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 14-1 on the season with a victory over the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon.
Here are some quick notes from the win.
1. Kansas City has now won 14+ games for the third time under Head Coach Andy Reid.
The Chiefs are winners of at least 14 games for the third time under Head Coach Andy Reid, matching the win totals from the 2020 and 2022 campaigns. The Chiefs have never won 15 games in the regular season, and with two weeks left to play, Kansas City will have a shot at the franchise record.
Here are Coach Reid’s win totals since taking over the Chiefs in 2013:
2013: 11-5 (made playoffs)
2015: 11-5 (made playoffs)
2016: 12-4 (won AFC West)
2017: 10-6 (won AFC West)
2018: 12-4 (won AFC West)
2019: 12-4 (won Super Bowl LIV)
2021: 12-5 (won AFC West)
2022: 14-3 (won Super Bowl LVII)
2023: 11-6 (won Super Bowl LVIII)
Remarkably, while the Chiefs have totaled three 14-win campaigns since 2020, the rest of the NFL has combined to post just one 14-win season in that span (the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles).
2. The Chiefs went undefeated at home during the regular season for the first time since 2003.
Kansas City finished its regular-season slate of home games with a perfect record on Saturday. The Chiefs defeated Baltimore, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Houston at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this year. This marks the Chiefs’ first undefeated regular season at home since the 2003 campaign.
The Chiefs are one of only two teams to compile a perfect record at home this year, joining the Buffalo Bills (who sit at 6-0 with two games left to play).
