When does an athlete or entertainer know they’re a superstar? It can be many things, but when fans start naming babies after you, then you’re a superstar. That’s the case for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Daniels met with the media after Thursday’s practice and discussed the return of wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Daniels, of course, is happy to have his top target back as the Commanders ramp up preparations for their Week 1 battle with the New York Giants.

Before Daniels finished his media session, one reporter informed him that he had conducted an interview with a Washington fan outside the stadium recently. The fan said after watching Daniels play, she chose to name her baby after him.

“Nah, I can’t even lie. Nah, I did not,” Daniels said with a smile when asked if he could imagine the impact he’s had on the local community.

“I would say it’s cool, but just the impact I want to leave for sure. I want people to just talk good about me when I’m not around, in the room. Outside of just me being a football player, as a role model and somebody in the community, that’s kind of the biggest thing, but to have somebody name a baby after me is kind of crazy.”

Remember, earlier this month, Daniels signed a baby.
