A year after naming five team captains with a revolving sixth member, Brian Callahan and the Tennessee Titans have named seven team captains for the 2025 season. After the vote was held, the announcement was made in front of the full team, fans, and guests at the Captains’ Dinner at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Nashville.

While a few are holdovers from Callahan’s first season, the biggest news was that rookie quarterback Cam Ward was named a team captain, becoming the first rookie since 2015 to receive that honor for the Titans. For those following the team, this should be no surprise. From the moment he was drafted, Ward has been a prominent figure within the organization, demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities during his brief time in Nashville.

Joining Ward as 2025 season team captains are WR Calvin Ridley, RB Tony Pollard, DT Jeffery Simmons, S Amani Hooker, LB Cody Barton, and LS Morgan Cox.

This honor is nothing new for Simmons (five) and Cox (three), who have been consecutive-year captains during their careers with the Titans, but for Ridley, Pollard, Hooker, and Barton, this is their first year as team captains in Tennessee.

Like Ward, Barton was a new addition to the Titans after signing with the team as an unrestricted free agent in March, and he, too, demonstrated tremendous leadership qualities during offseason team activities, rallying the defense while Simmons was on hiatus.

The Titans have spent the offseason and training camp trying to change the culture within the facility, and now these seven players will help Callahan continue building that process by leading a young group on and off the field.Â
