NASHVILLE — 2025 Tennessee Titans No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward must be protected at all costs in the young quarterback’s rookie season. With the offseason acquisitions of left tackle Dan Moore, Jr. and right guard Kevin Zeitler, Tennessee might be able to field a professional offensive line for the first time in nearly five years.

The new-look group has met expectations through training camp and preseason.

GM Mike Borgonzi pleased with early Titans offensive line returns

While Zeitler and center Lloyd Cushenberry did not play in any of the Titans three exhibition games, general manager Mike Borgonzi likes what he’s seeing from his front five.

“We’ve been really happy with Dan (Moore Jr) and Kevin (Zeitler), and those guys they’ve really had a nice camp,” Borgonzi said on Thursday. “Kevin hasn’t done the preseason games, but he’s got enough experience there where he’s going to be ready to roll here during the season. But, having Dan at left tackle, I think he’s done a really good job there, and then moving JC (Latham) to the right. And then getting Cush (Lloyd Cushenberry III) back here at practice, we’ll see how it looks here next week, too. So, they’re starting to gel though, so I feel good about that unit right now.”

Ward was only sacked one time in 22 dropbacks against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.

Zeitler, 35, signed a one-year deal to come to Tennessee this offseason. Moore, Jr. was one of the biggest acquisitions made by any team in free agency, inking a four-year $82 million deal to hold down Ward’s blindside. Combined with Cushenberry’s imminent return from a November 2024 Achilles tear and former first-round picks Latham and left guard Peter Skoronski, there might not be a more reformed unit on the Titans roster.

Tennessee quarterbacks were sacked 52, 64 and 49 times respectively in each of the last three seasons.
