The San Francisco 49ers have set their 53-man roster for the start of the season and had filled up their 16-man practice squad on Thursday, but on Friday, the team made three transactions that changed the look of their practice squad heading into Week 1.

On Friday, San Francisco announced that they’ve released defensive end William Bradley-King and signed defensive lineman Evan Anderson and offensive tackle Kilian Zierer to the practice squad.

Bradley-King, 27,  played at Arkansas State (2016-19), earning All-Sun Belt honors twice, and Baylor (2020) before Washington took him in the seventh round (No. 240 overall) of the 2021 NFL draft. He appeared in four games with Washington, recording seven tackles and a half-sack. He signed with San Francisco earlier this month and joined the practice squad after roster cuts.

Anderson, 23, spent his college days at Florida Atlantic from 2020-23, earning All-Conference honors in his final two years with the team. In 39 career games, he finished with 146 tackles (21 for a loss), seven sacks, three fumbles recovered and two passes defensed. He signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and played in 12 games as a rookie, recording 24 tackles (two for a loss), one sack and a forced fumble. He was originally released during roster cuts, but now he’s back.

Zierer, 25, was born and raised in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and began playing football at 16 for the Munich Cowboys. He moved to the United States to play football in college, first for the College of the Canyons (2018-19) and then for Auburn (2020-22). At Auburn, he started every game at left tackle in 2022 and was invited to the East-West Shrine Game.

The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle went undrafted in 2023 and signed with the Houston Texans, missing his rookie season due to an ankle injury and spending 2024 on the practice squad. He also had stints with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns this offseason. Because Zierer is an International Pathway Player, the 49ers can have 17 players on their practice squad.
