MABEN – With quarterback KJ Cork running the show, the Chargers were able to enter Webster County and defeat the East Webster Wolverines 14-0.
Choctaw County wasted no time kicking off the offensive attack as Cork capped off a methodical opening drive with a 36-yard touchdown strike, giving the Chargers an early 7-0 lead over the Wolverines.
The drive showcased a balanced attack, with multiple first downs earned on the ground. Cork was flawless through the air, completing all three of his passes for 41 yards including the connection with Jaqualian Johnson for the score.
East Webster’s defense responded in the second quarter, forcing a punt and shifting momentum with a big play from Dayton Crowley, who broke free for a 42-yard gain into Choctaw County territory, but the Charger defense stiffened, dialing up pressure on third down to force a missed field goal attempt. The Wolverines came up empty, and Choctaw County held a 7–0 advantage heading into halftime.
