The Cardinals have avoided Hunter the last two seasons but will not this season.
The NFL continues to reveal players in the yearly offseason “NFL Top 100.” Three Arizona Cardinals players made the list, with linebacker Josh Sweat at No. 95, tight end Trey McBride at No. 65 and safety Budda Baker at No. 34, making the list for the sixth straight year.
Several players the Cardinals will face in 2025 continue to be revealed.
Last week, players No. 30-21 were revealed. Among them was Houston Texans DE Danielle Hunter, whom the Cardinals will face this season. He is No. 25. He was No. 68 in 2024.
Texans receiver Nico Collins thought that Hunter might be the No. 1 player in the league.
“Nobody can block him coming off the edge,” he said.
Micah Parsons, now on the Green Bay Packers, said that Hunter is “unlimited” and “has every move.”
Hunter, traded from the Minnesota Vikings to the Texans last year, had 12 sacks last season.
The Cardinals avoided him the last two years. They played the Texans in 2023 while Hunter was still in Minnesota and played the Vikings last season after Hunter was traded to Houston.
This year, though, the Cardinals face the Texans on the road in Week 15. Are tackles Paris Johnson and Jonah Williams ready for him?
He has played the Cardinals five times in his career and has eight sacks in those five games. He also has 20 total tackles, nine tackles for loss and 11 quarterback hits.
