This week, Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson about celebrating College Colors Day and his thoughts on his alma mater, Texas, as the top-ranked team opening the season, matching up with the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
“We haven’t been number one at the beginning of the season for a long time, so we need to start the season as the best team. It puts a different confidence into us. For us to go against the team that just won a national championship (Ohio State), and to go into their house, I think it’s going to be a great test,” said Robinson, “If we handle our business, how we’re supposed to, I feel like we’ll win the game. Then that’s going to set up the season for what we want to do, and all the special things we want to do, but we’ve got to handle this week first before we look ahead for the future.”
As the top-ranked team in the preseason polls, Texas will be tested immediately when it visits the third-ranked Buckeyes. Aside from Texas alums Xavier Worthy and Charles Omenihu, the Kansas City Chiefs‘ first-round pick from this year’s NFL Draft will likely be tuned in on Saturday night.

Ohio State will be without its star left tackle, Josh Simmons, from last year’s National Championship team, as he will be beginning his NFL career next week with the Chiefs. He earned Third-Team All-Big Ten honors last season for the Buckeyes before missing significant time last October due to a torn patellar tendon.
College Colors Day is a national celebration encouraging fans, students, and alumni to show their school pride by wearing their university’s colors and apparel to mark the beginning of the college sports season.
