GREEN BAY, Wis. — It takes one to know one and Pro Football Hall of Famer LeRoy Butler said the blockbuster trade by the Green Bay Packers this week to acquire Micah Parsons reminds him a lot of when Green Bay acquired a fellow future Hall of Fame defensive star in 1993.

“I remember when Reggie White came through; I had to elevate my game,” Butler said Friday. “A lot of people weren’t going to pick the Packers defense in fantasy football. A lot of people are picking them now.”

While Butler said Packers fans are rightfully thrilled by the move to acquire Parsons in his prime, they did have to trade a lot to get him, including defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

“[Clark] did everything right,” Butler said. “He’s been what you want since he came through the door. He proved to America that it’s not about height, size and weight; you can play in this league if you’re a very good player.”
